Proton Therapy

Proton Therapy is a CLINICAL INTERVENTION.

Proton Therapy (also known as Proton Beam Radiation Therapy) is a type of Radiotherapy that uses streams of protons (tiny particles with a positive charge) to kill tumour CELLS and minimise the damage to nearby TISSUES or PERSON ORGANS. Therefore, Proton Therapy is used often in the paediatric and teenage cancer group of PATIENTS.

Proton Therapy is used to treat hard to reach Tumours in the head and neck and in other PERSON ORGANS such as the brain, eye, lung, spine and prostate.
