A HIV Episode is an ACTIVITY GROUP.

A HIV Episode is an episode of care comprising of one or more HIV Clinic Attendances with a Health Care Provider where a PATIENT attends for the care and treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

The HIV Episode:

• starts on the date the PATIENT:
  • is first diagnosed with HIV or
  • is in contact with a CARE PROFESSIONAL in respect of a REFERRAL REQUEST from a Health Care Provider or
  • presents as a self referral.

• ends on the date the PATIENT:
  • is formally discharged from the main Health Care Provider or
  • dies.
